Our premium Biochar is produced from dead trees and other wood waste which would otherwise be disposed of in a landfill in a proprietary kiln to produce a premium engineered Biochar with a surface area of 400-500 square meters per gram and which absorbs 5.6 times its weight in water. It also has both anionic & cationic exchange which gives it superior capabilities in binding to nutrients.

We sell by volume, not by weight. Product is sold in 1 cubic foot bags which have a shipping weight of 21 lbs.
Premium Engineered Biochar (Small)
For small garden beds use 2-5% Biochar per volume of soil. For large acreage coverage, the average amount of Biochar to be used is 4 cubic yards per acre.
